Tintin
I set up TintinMovie.org when I heard that Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson where going to direct the new films. As a life long Tintin fan I was excited by the prospect of Tintin coming to screen but as an SEO entrepreneur I was excited by the opportunities it present. Two feature films by big name directors will generate a lot of publicity and net traffic when the films are released. So I saw a chance to get in early and establish a Tintin movie focused site in the Google top-ten. Currently this generates very little traffic and revenue but if the films become hits, the traffic will rapidly increase.
My plan seems to have worked as Tintin Movie is currently number one in Google for “Tintin Movie”. Investigating further, I find that the site is also about 30th on the keyword “Tintin”. This is a surprise because I did not think a brand new site would be able to compete with well established commercial and fan Tintin sites. So my target now is to get Tintin Movie into the top ten for “Tintin” using articles posted on MiceLife.
Unlike most sites tackling a new keyword, I don’t need to tune my site for the new keyword as the word “Tintin” was part of my original target “Tintin Movie”. All I need to do is write the articles and build the links.
Checking out the current Tintin top ten, number one is the offical Tintin website. Not surprisingly, this site has hundreds of incoming links. Next is Wikipedia, followed by Tintinologist, a fan site with about 40 incoming links. After that are various official Tintin sites (shops, TV shows etc). The last few in the top ten are Amazon.com, a website for comic book covers and a tattoo studio in France called Tin-tin. Neither the specific Tintin Amazon page or the specific Tintin comic book covers page has any incoming links (though the sites generally have lots) and the tattoo studio has about ten incoming links.
My target is going to be to write ten articles linked back to Tintin Movie. This should be enough, along with all the other SEO techniques, to get me close to or into the top ten. The plan is to write an article about each of the major characters using information from Wikipedia and my own knowledge. So I’m off to get writing.
